“High in the mountains of Northern Iraq live the PKK – 5000
soldiers of the Kurdish Liberation Army. 50% of them are
women. The PKK say that they have learned that some things
are more important than getting a state of your own – such as
gender equality, ecological sustainability, and freedom from
oppression, for all. Western countries call them terrorists. The
US Army states that it plans to erradicate them, any day now.
So how long till you find out that *you’re* a terrorist too?”
A few minutes later, two women came up to the wall and said:
“How dare you do this? This is not your property! How dare you
write this BILE on the wall? Don’t you know it’s illegal? Don’t you
know graffiti is the beginning of the end for an area? People
like you are disgusting. You think you can do anything you like.
Don’t you know what Saddam Hussein did to women? And saying WE might
be terrorists. That would never happen. We’re LIBERATING those
people! And you can’t spell ‘eradicate’ either.”
